Party Furniture Hire Perth: Lounge, Barrels, Tables and Chairs

Cane lounge and side tables party furniture hire Perth

Party furniture hire in Perth means a lounge, wine barrel high-tops with stools, a bar and, if people are eating, round tables and chairs, all delivered to your place, set up and packed down. Great Celebrations hires each piece on its own or as the $700 Backyard Wedding Package (listed in the shop as Backyard Party Hire Perth), which suits a birthday, engagement or get-together just as well as a wedding. Call 0405 667 848 with your date, suburb and guest count and we will tell you what fits.

This guide is about choosing the furniture itself. If you want the full rundown of the $700 package, read backyard party hire Perth: engagements, birthdays and the $700 package. For the whole catalogue, including weddings, start with the furniture hire Perth guide.

What party furniture can you hire in Perth?

These are the prices listed in the Great Celebrations seating and tables category and the rest of the shop:

  • Cane lounge: $300. Choose the 6-seater or the 6 Seat White Corner Lounge. It includes cane chairs and sofas, throw pillows, side tables and rugs. An 8m x 4m carpet is an optional extra.
  • Wine barrels: oak $25, white $30, oak with 4 stools $41, white with 4 stools $46, stools only $4, barrel top $20.
  • Bar: $150. Wooden, white, oak barrel bar or white barrel bar.
  • 6ft round table: $35. Seats 8 to 10 guests.
  • Americana chair: $6.
  • Ottoman: $50. A pallet ottoman for an extra perch.
  • Umbrella: $40. A 2m umbrella for shade or a light shower over the drinks corner.

Lighting, sound and cover sit on top of that: festoon lighting from 20m ($150) to 100m ($750), a speaker at $100 and a marquee at $550 including lighting, sides, setup and removal.

Decide the shape of the party first

Furniture follows how people will spend the night. There are three common shapes.

Standing drinks and grazing

Engagement drinks, a 30th or 40th, a long afternoon with friends. People circulate, so you need places to put a drink down, somewhere to perch and a bar that is not the kitchen bench. Barrels with stools, a lounge and a bar do all of it. This is exactly the mix inside the $700 package.

A sit-down meal

A family birthday dinner, an anniversary or a milestone lunch. Everyone needs a proper seat and a table, so the answer is 6ft rounds with one chair per guest. A round seats 8 to 10, which keeps the conversation at one table instead of strung along a long trestle.

A mix of both

This is a common backyard setup. Barrels and a lounge handle drinks and mingling, and a few rounds give older relatives or the dinner course a proper table. Start with the cocktail kit, then add rounds for the number of guests who must sit.

Four party builds using listed prices

These examples use only the shop prices above, added up, before delivery. They are starting points, not quotes.

1. Cocktail party: the Backyard Wedding Package, $700. Four barrels (oak or white), 16 stools, a 6-seater lounge (cane or white), one bar (oak or white), 40m of festoon lighting and one umbrella. That gives you 22 places to sit (16 stools plus 6 on the lounge) for a standing party where not everyone sits at once.

2. Birthday dinner for 40. Four 6ft rounds at 10 guests each ($140) and 40 Americana chairs ($240) comes to $380. If you would rather seat 8 per table for more elbow room, it is five rounds ($175) plus the same chairs, $415.

3. Hybrid party: package plus a dinner corner. The $700 package, plus two rounds ($70) and 20 Americana chairs ($120) for the guests who sit down to eat, totals $890.

4. Lounge-led garden party without the full package. One cane lounge ($300), two white barrels with four stools each ($92) and a bar ($150) comes to $542. Add festoon by the metre if you want evening light.

How many pieces do you need?

There is no magic ratio for a party, because it depends on how long people sit. The listed numbers give you the building blocks:

  • A barrel with four stools gives four perches.
  • The 6-seater lounge gives six seats.
  • A 6ft round gives 8 to 10 seats, and each seated guest needs one chair.

For a standing party, count the seats you want to offer, not the guest list. The package's 22 places suit a gathering where guests move around. If most people will sit for a meal, plan rounds and chairs instead. Ask us when you enquire and we will suggest a mix based on guest count and your yard.

Setting up a Perth backyard for a party

Think in zones rather than a pile of furniture.

  1. Drinks zone. Put the bar where ice and glasses can reach it easily, with barrels close by as overflow high-tops.
  2. Lounge zone. The lounge is the sit-down photo spot and the place for the guests who do not want to stand for hours. On grass, the optional 8m x 4m carpet anchors it.
  3. Dining zone, if you have one. Rounds are listed as stable on grass, slab or indoor floors. Leave room to walk around the chairs.
  4. Light and cover. Festoon is available in 20m, 40m, 60m, 80m and 100m lengths. Lights above 6m high need access equipment, which is not included. If rain or sun is the concern, add a marquee or an umbrella.

Tell us about gate width, steps and slope when you enquire. Photos or a short video of the yard help us confirm the layout.

Package or pieces?

The $700 package is the simplest way to get a matched party kit. Priced separately at the shop's listed prices, the same items come to $954 with oak barrels and stools ($41 each x 4, plus lounge $300, bar $150, 40m festoon $300 and umbrella $40) or $974 with white. The package works out about $250 to $275 cheaper on the listed prices, with one booking and one setup crew.

Pieces make more sense when you already have somewhere to sit, need a bigger dinner zone or want something the package does not include, such as rounds, chairs or a marquee. The package does not include a marquee, catering, drinks, bar staff or florals. See the package vs piece-by-piece worked examples and the wedding hire packages guide for the full ladder.

Birthdays, engagements and backyard parties

Birthdays. Milestone birthdays tend to be either a standing drinks night or a seated dinner, so choose that first. A dance floor (from $350) and a speaker ($100) turn the lawn into a party space for the second half of the night.

Engagements. The barrels, lounge and festoon in the package suit a drinks-and-speeches evening. If the family is coming for dinner, add a few rounds and chairs.

Backyard get-togethers. The package works as a stand-alone kit. Add a slushy machine if it is a summer afternoon.

If you are also planning a table-and-chair dinner, the table and chair hire planner works out how many of each you need, and the outdoor furniture hire guide covers lawns and marquees. If the day includes vows on the same lawn, the backyard wedding hire guide covers the booking order.
